Group training in Australia is an important measure to address employment and training issues. Governments provide funding towards the operational costs of group training companies and assistance towards the development of new schemes. This review examined the need for group training companies in the labour market and made recommendations on future funding arrangements. The review noted the wide range of activities in which group training companies are engaged and sought to clarify the role of group training companies by separating core activites from additional activities. The review recommended that further work be undertaken to develop funding guidelines for group training companies. Show less
